The lack of representation and inequality in American Theatre is unacceptable. Aggregate Collective is a group of professional theatremakers working to expand ethnic, cultural, social-economic and gender representation in the theatre industry.
We know we can’t solve all inequities at all stages of production, but where we can start is at the beginning. We provide development support to artists to help facilitate their new creative work to be seen, selected and produced by regional and national theaters.
And, we’re just getting started, and need your help.
The Collective has chosen the new musical EXIT RIGHT by Ian Brandon, Matthew Buckley Smith and Anne-Marie Thompson as its first “Artist Cohort” for the 2022/23 season. (Full bios on the website)
This is where you come in…
We are currently self-funded and all efforts are focused on this first cohort. To amplify our mission, we need to establish our 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exempt status to apply for grants and accept larger donations. Your contribution will go directly towards establishing this non-profit and pave the way towards supporting more artist cohorts in the future.
Please consider donating $25, $50, $100 dollars to help us expand representation in American Theatre by supporting new work by artists with diverse perspectives.
Curious about our process?
We start with radical hospitality for the artists to join us for a weeklong development retreat. This includes lodging, transportation, childcare, accessibility needs, and food. Leading up to the retreat, the artist cohort participates in shared learning experiences in the form of workshops, artistic forums and has access to the network, expertise, and experience of members in the Collective. After the retreat, the artists become part of the Collective where they can find continued support and be a mentor for other artist cohorts. Learn more about the members of the Collective here .
